** Let it Snow **

Dallas today had SNOW! All day on the news all I have heard is that this is a record. Everything closed down, and people were freaking.

There was only susposto be 1-2" and there is about 5-6" at the house and some places have up to 9". Funny because this weekend it's susposto be in the 50's.

Friday when we woke, we saw a bunch of branches broken on alot of trees. This is a small one compared to one we saw at a neighbors. There was even damage to the eves of the house we are renting.

Today seemed like a great day for homemade chili. I must admit I do make a GREAT chili.

RECEIPE
1 package hamburger or ground Turkey
1 packet of Chili seasoning
2 limes
1 bunch of Cilentro
1 can crushed chilis (mild)
1 small onion
3-4 cloves garlic
3-4 cans kidney beans - I mix it up also using white beans
1 16 oz can CRUSHED tomato's
1 16 oz can DICED tomato's

Brown your meat, add juice of 1 lime, 1/2 packet of chili seasoning and 1 chopped onion. also add can of chilis while cooking meat. before meat is completley cooked add 1/2 your cilantro finaly chopped. (I love cilantro, so how much you use is up to you)
I am also not one for anything too spicy, so you can adjust to your liking by changing the mild chilis to hotter ones.
In crock pot, add your tomatos, rest of chili seasoning, juice of 2nd lime and put lime's in crock pot (remove before serving) remainig cilentro, kidney beans, garlic.

Simmer in crock pot for several hours, then ENJOY!

  1. This sounds really good and I can hardly wait to try it. BTW thanks for your comment about the contest. Tomorrow is the last day. Enjoy the snow. They told me it didn't snow here and last year we got 12" in December Very interesting to see people "not drive" when they are not use to snow.
