I have NO idea what got over me this weekend. Friday I had to bake cookies for my Visiting Teaching gals, and it was a lot of fun and the cookies were really, really yummy. I decided to make Oatmeal Raisin. Truth be told, it was because it was the only cookie (at the time) I had all the ingredients for. I read online to soak the raisin's before adding to the dough. Best Oatmeal Raisin cookies I have had in a very long time.
They were not Mike's favorite as he isn't a big fan of raisins, but he did like them. He made mention that chocolate chip cookies would be good. Money is tight at casa de Hughes, so I scrounged up enough money to go to the store and get some more butter and a bag of chocolate chips. So guess what cookies I made on Saturday? Yep! They were really good too. Maybe it's because we haven't had homemade cookies in a long time, but for some reason they tasted sooooo good.
Tonight, Mike had to work his second job and Peanut Butter Cookies are his favorite, so guess what Michael and I did? I should say Michael because he got up on his little latter and put everything into the mixer for the cookies. I was so proud of him and proud of myself for not freaking out about the mess in my newly cleaned kitchen. Michael had a blast, and even helped me with the clean up! Yes he licked the beater, but he wanted to help me with the dishes. Who was I to say no.
