We had to go to Las Vegas to take care of a little legal issue, so we decided to make it a Vegas Vacation of sorts. Believe it or not, it was cheaper to get a package with air & hotel than just air fair, so we ended up staying at the Luxor on the strip.
I remember staying at the Luxor about 8 years ago and thinking how fancy it was. A lot has changed int 8 years. Duct tape holding up panels on the elevators, and our air conditioning in the room was practically non existent. Honestly I think the Super 8 Motel's we have stayed in were better than the Luxor. It was really disappointing. Everything was so overpriced too. For breakfast on Tuesday we ate at the cafe at the Excalibur. I got french toast. seriously 2 pieces of bread for $10.
Grandpa Mike (Mike's dad) meet us down there and stayed with us and Michael and grandpa had a GREAT time. It was really neat to see the two of them play. Michael was such a ham to watch with him too. Everything was "grandpa is so funny". When Grandpa left to go home, Michael took the phone in our room, picked it up like he was calling someone and I kid you not this was his conversation. "I want to talk to grandpa. It's Michael. Ok" then he hangs up the phone. Mike and I were dying. It was so hilarious.
Getting off the plane in Las Vegas Michael wanted to carry our carry on bag because he sees everyone else carrying bags. Michael is DRAGGING it on the ground and telling all the other passengers passing him to slow down. They were all busting up laughing. He was trying to keep up with them and didn't want ANYONE to pass him. On the flight home he was "Playing" with this very nice older couple behind us. They were amazed at how well he was talking and the sentences he was saying. They couldn't believe he just turned 2. Near the end of the flight, the husband tells me that he and his wife have been talking about Michael and wanted me to know that his wife is a doctor who works with small children with speech issues and he felt impelled to tell me that he and his wife were beyond stunned with how many words Michael knew, said and put together. We get comments all the time on how well he speaks, and this was actually pretty neat to get this type of a comment.
While in Vegas we took the opportunity to get a family photo of the 3 Mike's.
Michael loves getting his photo taken and was having a lot of fun with Dadoo (what he calls mike) and grandpa. We got some really cute photos.
The caption on his shirt: When God made me he was just showing off
We also had some family pictures taken of all the grandkids for Mike's mom. The kids weren't to cooperative for that one, unfortunately. The pictures were to be of just the grandkids, and to get them to sit still and somewhat behave, parent's had to get into the pictures. This is Mike's sister Michelle and her 1 month old daughter Isabella. Mark, Mikes brother and his 2 kids Alex and Ericka.
